St. Mary’s Food Kitchen

Once a month we gather to help serve at St. Mary’s Food kitchen. Everyone is invited to help! If you would like to help provide for the meal, the Sloppy Joe recipe is below. Please deliver the hot Sloppy Joe mixture, along with 24 regular buns, anytime between 7:00 and 9:30 am. The dates for serving can be found in the bulletin or on the website calendar. Volunteers who wish to help serve the meal at the Food Kitchen should meet by 9:15 am. Please note that youth helpers must be at least 12 years old to volunteer at the St. Mary’s Food Kitchen.


SLOPPY JOE RECIPE
4 lbs. ground beef
2 cups diced onion
2 tsp salt
1 tsp brown sugar
2 tsp garlic powder
3 Tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
2 Tbsp yellow mustard
2 cups ketchup
1 (8 oz) can of tomato sauce


Cook the ground beef, onion, and salt. Drain the grease.
Add the rest of the ingredients and simmer 20 minutes.

We have an extra day to serve. It is on Saturday, November 9th, 2024. We have donated pulled pork this time, we will not need the sloppy joes.
