Father Pat has decided to cancel today’s 10:00 am Mass due to the blizzard warning. Emergency officials are advising people not to be out on the streets for your own safety and the safety of others. Below is the announcement from the Archdiocese in regards to the dispensation, or not being obligated, to attend Mass in these weather conditions.Announcement from Father John Riley, Vicar General and Chancellor for the Archdiocese of Kansas City in Kansas, regarding the inclement weather and fulfilling this weekend’s Mass obligation:The faithful who are legitimately impeded from participating at Mass due to inclement or unsafe weather may be excused from their obligation, but must nevertheless spend time in prayer on Sunday and should read and reflect on the readings from Sunday’s Mass. The elderly particularly are encouraged to avoid inclement and unsafe driving conditions and icy sidewalks, parking lots and curbing at parishes.
