It's hard to believe that May is here! I wanted to take the opportunity to say Gracias to the parents that have supported me and the Spanish program. You are all so wonderful!
I have been working with children for 16 years, and for the last 7 years, I have finished the school year with something dear to my heart--"La Musica" (The Music) is such an important part of the Latino culture. The music truly connects people to who they are and what they believe. The music also varies from country to country. From salsa to merengue, the children will learn history, people, and how to dance.
So if you notice your child yelling azucar, you know that the queen of salsa, Celia Cruz, is the topic of the week.
My prayer to all my students is to have a safe and blessed summer.
