School Fundraisers

Scrip Program

St. Agnes School invites parents and/or parishioner to participate in the SCRIP program. SCRIP is a fundraising program where national retailers sell gift cards/gift certificates to not-for-profit organizations at a discounted price. The not-for-profits then sell the gift cards/gift certificates to participants at face value and retain the profit. For example, the not-for-profit could buy a gift certificate for $4.75 with a face value of $5.00. Then sell the gift card to a participant for the face value, and retain the .25¢.

This is an excellent opportunity for parents and/or parishioners of St. Agnes to help raise funds for the School. One local group participating in the SCRIP program reported a net-profit of $80,000 last year alone. There is no sign-up or participation fee. The most difficult aspect of the program is changing the way you think about shopping. It just requires some planning ahead! If you are interested in participating in the program, you can pick-up order forms in the School office, Rectory and on the website at www.stagneskc.org, email scrip@stagneskc.org or you can call Anne Jezak (913-677-4953) for details.

Do Your Part

Ink jet cartridges are also recycled for cash.  Turn in your used cartridges, toners and drums

into the School Office.

St. Agnes School collects all types of clean, dry paper including magazines, shopping catalogs, old newspapers, office paper, envelopes, and old mail.  Your paper can be dropped off at the bright green and yellow Paper Retriever™, located next to the left of the school gym.  Donations may be made twenty-four hours, seven days a week at our location.  Not only is this effort good for the environment with over 250 cubic yards of landfill space saved by St. Agnes each year, but we receive cash for the effort.  We are paid $20 per ton up to 7 tons, once we exceed 8 tons we are paid $30 per ton.  If both bins are filled each week we will collect 8 tons per month.  Every page and scrap of paper counts!
