                                    APRIL

Early childhood classes are continuing to focus on Color, Line and Shape.  With a variety of colors available we are creating bright gardens, funny shaped bugs and refreshing landscapes.

All this with paint, glue, paper and scissors.

 

First, Second and Third Graders are working on a variety of seasonal art projects including weaving, painting, drawing, and 

sculpting.  Look for the woven bookmarks and sculpted bugs.

Fourth graders practice drawing and design skills as they create their own bookmark.

Fifthe grade are studying Paul Klee.  Lines and watercolor make beautiful paintings.

6th grade Paper Mache animals.

7/8 Electives   Illuminated letters, coil pots, paper mache animals.

                                   FEBRUARY

Preschool, PreK, and Kindergarten are working on seasonal and auction projects.  Look for some colorful hearts coming your way.

First, Second and Third grades are creating art based the Going Places theme.  We are making lanterns, Hawaiin shirts and sunglasses.

Fourth grade Made some very unique passports and are working on creating a symbol quilt.

Fifth graders made a travelling camel train and are woking on improving their drawing skills.

6th Grade are ready for vacation and creating posters to show where they are going.

7/8 are creating stylish gifts for the auction.

                            GRADING SCALE

Early childhood and primary classes are graded on effort and participation.

Intermediate classes are graded on participation, conduct and effort.

Middle school classes are graded on participation, conduct, effort and the art rubric.

A/A+    Wow! Exceptional solution to the problem.

B/B+   Good You did everything requested, followed directions.

C/C+   OK  You did just enough to get by.  Poor craftsmanship.

D/D+  It is Not finished.  You did not follow directions. Low effort. Poor craftsmanship.

F  NO Project.  Poor craftsmanship, low effort, you did not follow directions.
